India: some chilling time at least

Udaipur is known as the most romantic place of India. Well I’m not romantic so that kind of things does not make any difference to me, but it does have some great food! And food, I like. We found a nice and healthy vegetarian restaurant, an actual cosy place where we went many times. It was like an oasis of peace after the overwhelming time we had in the country… And to our delight, the town had many places to unwind without being hassled, without constant honking and everything else that makes Rajasthan the pain it can be. The lakefront is pretty and it’s nice to walk around. We didn’t do much apart from walking around, eating, taking a sitar lesson and getting a massage, simply enjoying the days. We also spotted our first Indian monkeys, the langurs  that we were trying to see in Kaoh Sok (Thailand). Well they were all over the big park of Udaipur!

There’s a lot of interesting streetart on the river banks.

As usual, some pretty evocative carvings in a temple.

Next  to most temples are flower vendors. The Sadhu on the right is simply living there.

Those guys could not care less about the monkey swinging its tail around their faces.

Have you ever seen James Bond – Octopussy? It was shot here and every restaurant in town shows the movie at 7pm.
